The world is watching... apparently!
So, it is necessary to upload & post only 'happy things'.
Never show them you are weak or your guard is down,
Even if you have been suffering.
Some are walking with a knife,
Looking for a back to stab in.
While some are reaching out to catch you,
Then leave you in water to drown in.
Some shove you out of line,
Totally unapologetically.
Some stand by you,
Even if it means cynically.
Faith is off the hook,
Because it’s not meant for Gen X, Y or Z.
Once you believed in friends & family,
But now you run into Therapy.
You are okay to tell a stranger,
How you feel bent, hurt and broken.
But will not tell the one who did that,
Because for years you two haven’t spoken.
The world now has no heartbeat that counts.
We tend to live our lives,
In front of a green screen,
And choose our own background.
A fake smile, a little pout and a reel to upload,
These are the gimmicks that are being sold.
To step away from this, you have to be bold.
Care for your heart and don’t grow cold.
The mirror is fine, it’s you that is cracked.
Quit faking around and pull yourself back.
Try tears sometimes and let it all out,
Forget about others, just be faithfully yours.
